Overview
Claim lines allow practices to prepare billing details for insurance submission. MedFlow IO provides two options: generating claim lines for a single order or for multiple orders at once. It is critical that all orders are first in Delivered status before claims are generated. After billing out the claims, practices must update the order status to Billed, whether processed individually or in bulk.
Key Steps
Generating Claim Lines for an Individual Order
Navigate to the Orders page.
Select and open the order you want to process.
Confirm the order is in Delivered status.
Go to the Documentation tab.
Click Generate Claim Lines.
A pop-up window will appear to download the document.
Download and review the generated claim details.
Another pop-up will appear to mark the order as Billed.
Once you confirm that all details are correct, click Continue to update the order status as Billed.
Generating Claim Lines in Bulk
Navigate to the Orders page.
Use the checkboxes to select multiple delivered orders.
Click Selection Actions β Export Claim Data.
Claim lines will be generated for all selected orders in one spreadsheet.
A pop-up window will appear to download the document.
Download and review the generated claim details.
Once you confirm that all details are correct, Click Selection Actions β Mark Billed to update the order status for all selected orders as Billed.
Another pop-up will appear to mark the orders, click Continue to update the order status as Billed.
β οΈ Important Warning
Only mark orders as Billed once you have billed the claims or filed them for submission.
Marking orders as Billed prematurely may cause claims to be skipped or forgotten, leading to lost reimbursement.
Important Notes
Orders must be in Delivered status before generating claim lines.
Orders will not process correctly if not updated to Billed after claims are submitted.
Bulk claim line generation saves time, but accuracy still depends on updating statuses.
Regularly confirm order statuses in the portal to avoid billing discrepancies.
