Overview
The HCFA 1500 (CMS-1500) form is used for submitting health insurance claims. Within MedFlow IO, users can generate claim lines in bulk or individually and download the completed 1500 form directly from an order. Orders must be in Delivered status before generating claims. Once claims are billed out, the practice must change the status to Billed.
Key Steps
Access Orders
Go to the Orders page in your portal.
Locate the order(s) you want to generate claims for.
Use the status filter Delivered.. Only delivered orders are eligible for claim generation.for claim generation.
Generate the HCFA 1500 Form for an Individual Order
Open the individual order.
Navigate to the Documentation tab.
Click Generate 1500 Form.
The system will process the request and generate the HCFA 1500 claim form.
Download the Form
Once generated, the HCFA 1500 form will appear in the order’s Documents section.
Click to download and save the file for submission or records.
Button Functions
Bulk Orders Documentation Download
Select multiple orders.
Click Selection Actions → Download Documentation.
All documents available for the selected orders will be downloaded.
Important Notes
Only Delivered orders are eligible for claim generation.
After billing out claims, the practice must update the order status to Billed.
If an order is not in Delivered status, the Generate Claim Lines or Generate 1500 Form options will not appear.
